Boys Cross Country Wins at Eagle Classic

The boys cross country team picked up another invitational win at the Eagle Classic in Brown County. The Greyhounds again used a patient strategy, moving up in the second half of the race to finish with 83 points. Defending state champion Bloomington North was 16 points back with 99, Center Grove scored 110 points for third and Brownsburg was fourth at 155 points. Junior Jonah Kaul was again the top Greyhound, finishing third overall in a PR of 15:28. Senior Deklin Bowser also ran a lifetime best of 15:38 to finish ninth with senior Zach Flint 16th in 15:47. Senior Carter Buhr made his season debut, running 16:07 to finish 31st with junior Lucas Bartlett closing out scoring in 36th place overall. The 'Hounds were also victorious in the frosh/soph race, scoring 39 points to outdistance Bloomington North (81), Zionsville (84) and Bloomington South (87). Sophomores Cameron Scher-Millan and Grant Parkevich led the team with fourth- and seventh-place finishes, respectively. In the junior varsity race, the 'Hounds finished second to Zionsville after tying at 47 points. (The tiebreaker is team with the higher finishing sixth runner.)
