Jessica Darmelio has been named as the new girls basketball head coach at Carmel. The official announcement was made to team members on April 18. Darmelio arrives at Carmel after serving the previous three seasons as the head coach at Franklin College. “We are excited for Jessica to lead our program and work with our student-athletes. She has great energy and is ready to make an impact on our current Greyhounds and younger players in our school district,” said Carmel Athletic Director Jim Inskeep. Darmelio is no stranger to the high school coaching ranks. She served as the head coach at three different high schools earlier in her career prior to moving over to college hoops in 2021-2022 as an assistant at Marian University. Her coaching journey includes stops at her high school alma mater (Perry Meridian) and college alma mater (Franklin). Jessica has a track record of building programs while creating strong, positive relationships with student-athletes. Coach Darmelio will begin her coaching responsibilities immediately and will be teaching at Carmel High School in the Fall.
