The Greyhounds returned to action on Saturday when they traveled to Detroit, Michigan, to take on Detroit Country Day. It was a back-and-forth affair until Carmel took a 12-11 lead and never looked back. Seniors Breckin Hare, Elle Tomalia, and Sophie Mock led the Hounds. Hare scored five goals and added two assists, Tomalia added four goals and three assists, while Mock had five goals and an assist. Senior Avery Goehl had two goals, one assist, and led the team by controlling the draw for Carmel. Junior Ellie Espey had a goal on the day. Senior Norah Rafferty chipped in a goal and an assist on back-to-back plays to seal the victory. The Carmel defense bent but never broke against a talented and fast DCDS team. Carmel returns to action on Tuesday when they host Guerin Catholic High School in a rematch of last year's State Title game. The opening draw is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
