The boys cross country team finished second at the Brownsburg Regional with 65 points, 18 back from the host school. The finish propels the 'Hounds to another state finals to be held next week on the famed LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute where Carmel is the two-time defending champion. The 15:49 average for scoring runners was the best of the season. Sophomore Jonah Kaul was again the number one runner, finishing ninth (sixth in team scoring) in 15:38. This led a tight pack in which the first five Carmel runners were separated by 23 seconds. Senior Jack Capes was 14th overall in 15:43 with junior Zach Flint 16th in a huge personal best time of 15:48. Juniors Carter Buhr (19th in 15:54) and Deklin Bowser (25th in 16:01) also earned all-regional honors.
