The Greyhounds had to wait a whole year to play a game against Cathedral after being upset by the Irish in last years regional final. The girls made the most of their opportunity with a 3-1 win in the sectional final. In what was possibly their best effort of the year, the Hounds offense outshot the Irish 17-3 as the Blue and Gold midfield controlled play. Attacking midfielder Elsie Flanders scored two first half goals, giving her 8 goals on the season. She was assisted by defensive midfielder Kate Klinginsmith, who recorded her 7th assist of the season, topping the team so far this year. The second half was more of the same with leading scorer Olivia Cebalo adding her 20th goal of the year on a ball from outside midfielder Emma Ehret. The entire team played great defense with center-backs Rosie Martin and Bella Cueto standing tall in front of goalkeeper Mary Grace Knapp. The team record is now 14-3-2. The next game will be the regional semi-finals at Sectional 10 winner Brownsburg on Wednesday, October 16. The game is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
