Girls Soccer came from behind Saturday to defeat Zionsville, 3-1, at Murray Stadium. After a scoreless first half that saw Carmel outshoot the Eagles 9 to 3, Zionsville was awarded a deserved penalty kick early in the second half, which they converted. The Greyhounds tied the game 20 minutes into the half on a Kate Klinginsmith goal, her third of the week, from a Cameron Love corner kick. The Hounds continued to push for a winning goal and were rewarded for their effort when Lizzy Horoho found Olivia Ceballo at the top of the box. Cebalo rounded the Eagles goalkeeper and finish a tough angle shot. Cebalo then earned a PK with 7 seconds left in the game and finished the shot herself. She now leads the team in goals scored with 15. As with most games that this team plays, the Hounds played with great defensive tenacity which was rewarded by goals scored. The girls play their last regular season game on Monday evening in Westfield.
