In a meet that included four of the state's top six teams in the latest rankings, the boys cross country team finished third behind Brownsburg and Columbus North at the Eagle Classic in Brown County. The Greyhounds used a tight pack with all five scorers separated by just 11 seconds and 14 places. Carmel scored 114 points, 39 behind Columbus North and 23 ahead of Bloomington North in hot and humid conditions. In an earlier frosh/soph race, the 'Hounds were third as a team. Sophomore Ben Meisner worked through the field, eventually finishing third in a lifetime best of 16:22. The last race of the meet was the junior varsity where the 'Hounds grabbed the top five places for a win and perfect score. Senior Eli Gomez earned his second straight individual victory after winning the JV race at the Brownsburg Invite the previous week. Gomez's 17:17 put him 15 seconds ahead of classmate Josh Cale.
