Boys Cross Country finishes 2nd at Brownsburg Invite

On a crisp early autumn morning, the boys cross country team finished second to host Brownsburg at the Brownsburg Invite. Senior Kiefer Jay led the way in tenth overall in a lifetime best of 15:41, followed by sophomore Jonah Kaul (15:47), senior Jack Capes (15:56), junior Carter Buhr (15:59) and senior Will Gilhooly (16:03). Junior Deklin Bowser ran a lifetime best of 16:08 to put six Greyhounds in the top 20 overall. Junior Zach Flint (16:15), senior Cohen Levy (16:19), sophomore Ben Meisner (16:27) and junior Isaac Perrin (16:42) all also ran big lifetime best performances on an a day with ideal conditions for distance running. The 'Hounds dominated the junior varsity race with 18 points. Senior Eli Gomez got the individual win in 17:00 with sophomores Trevor Walton (17:03) and Zach Judy (17:07) moving up throughout the race to finish second and fourth overall. Seniors Amory Spence (17:08) and Dominic Riego (17:11) ran huge PRs to close out scoring. Carmel will next compete at the Eagle Classic in Brown County in one of the state's largest and most competitive regular season invitationals.
