The Varsity overcame some adversity, returning ill players and SAT takers, to close out Guerin Catholic 2-1 on Saturday. The Hounds jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal from freshman Ella Sarson. Many missed opportunities by Carmel later, Guerin scored with less than 10 minutes remaining to tie the game 1-1. The girls responded with Kate Klinginsmith sending Olivia Cebalo through the Golden Eagles back line to a one vs one with the goalkeeper. Olivia put the ball in the net with 4:57 left on the clock and Carmel claimed the victory. The team is now 2-1-0 with a game against Pendleton Heights scheduled for Wednesday.
