Boys Cross Country Open Season

The boys cross country opened the season with a 4000 meter race at the John Cleland Invite at Northview hosted by Zionsville. The race was separated into two races by grade. The freshman/sophomore race started the meet for the Greyhound boys. Sophomore Ben Meisner finished fifth overall in 13:09, a 23-second improvement from last year. Sophomore Zach Judy, in his first high school cross country race, moved up throughout race to finish 24th in 13:48. Sophomores Cooper Szotek and Trevor Walton were 29th and 30th with freshman Grant VanNahmen ending scoring in 49th place overall. The 'Hounds were sixth in the frosh-soph race, just a point behind Hamilton Southeastern. The junior/senior race was led by junior Zach Flint who finished 27th in 13:21, an improvement of more than a minute from 2023. Seniors Will Gilhooly, Dominic Riego, Noah Yoon and Max Bontrager also scored for the 'Hounds who finished tenth in the team scoring among a deep field of teams destined for the state finals this fall. The 'Hounds will next be in action at the Hamilton County Championship in Noblesville on the White River Elementary course.
