Brian Hamlett has been named as the new head coach of the Carmel Boys Track & Field program. Coach Hamlett has 21 years of track coaching experience starting with his tenure as a head coach in Grayslake, Illinois. Brian arrives at Carmel after serving for 4 years as the Head Coach of the Girls Program and then transitioned to oversee both the Boys & Girls Programs at Brebeuf Jesuit during the 2024 season, leading the Braves to a sixth place finish at the Boys State Meet. Coach Hamlett was a three sport athlete in high school as he balanced football, track and field, and basketball. A four year letterman at Southern Illinois University in football, he holds the school record for receiving touchdowns in a game. Coaching track and field became his passion after college. As a track head coach, his transformational coaching focus on student-athletes led to much success at Brebeuf Jesuit both on and off the track. Mr. Hamlett will teach Social Studies at Carmel High School in the Fall. An introductory meeting for the team will be held after the start of the school year. Please welcome Brian Hamlett to our Greyhound Family!
