Carmel Girls Track & Field Win The Hoosier State Relays Indoor Championship

The Carmel girls track & field team won the HSR Indoor championship on Saturday night with 60 points. Hamilton Southeastern was runner-up with 50 points. The Hounds came together as a team at the beautiful Fall Creek Pavilion indoor track facility. The team scored in almost every event in which we competed. Highlights High Jump: Freshman Emma Warner placed 12th in only her 2nd high school track meet. She jumped her personal best of 5-2. Long Jump: Gaby Grande Rosas placed 5th at 17-10.50, while teammate Becca Belanger placed 6th jumping 17-6. Both scoring for the Greyhounds. 60m Dash: Emily Norris placed 6th, breaking her own school record wiith a great time of 7.73. 4x800m Relay: Larkin Taylor (2:22.14), Annabel Pollert (2:20.95), Kaitlyn Oshimura (2:21.17) and Olivia Mundt (2:21.27) placed 3rd with a total time of 9:25.51. 4x200m Relay: Emily Norris, Ashlyn Guerrant, Becca Belanger and Gaby Grande Rosas placed 3rd overall with a time of 1:44.17. Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-1600): Audrey Ricketts (3:47.17 - 1200m), Lani Samms (1:02.68 - 400m), Larkin Taylor (2:24.20 - 800m) and Sadie Foley (5:11.21) placed 4th in a time of 12:24.95. 4x400m Relay: Gaby Grande Rosas (59.24), Audrey Ricketts (1:00.43), Kendall Wien (1:01.37) and Emily Norris (58.36) were runner-up with a total time of 3:59.39.
