Girls Cross Country Competes at State Championship

The girls' cross country team competed in the IHSAA State Cross Championship on October 28, 2023. The meet was held at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Greyhounds earned their 43rd appearance in the state finals; never missing a state meet in its history. The team competed well in a tight field of team competitors. SO Sadie Foley led the team with an 18th place finish (18:15) earning All-State individual honors. FR Annabel Pollert finished 54th (18:57) in her first appearance at the state meet. SR Audrey Ricketts (19:05) and FR Larkin Taylor (19:08) battled together throughout the second half of the race taking 71st and 80th place respectively. SR Emersyn Weaver (19:33) finished 127th, JR Olivia Mundt (19:45) finished 142nd, and JR Charlotte Konow (19:59) finished 162nd to finalize the team's scoring. The Greyhounds finished with 187 points in 7th place overall. 31 points separated third through seventh place teams in a very tight scoring competition. That concludes the team's season.
