Boys Cross Country Wins Brownsburg Regional, Advance to State Finals

The boys cross country team advanced to next week's state finals on the famed LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute with a victory at the Brownsburg Regional. The senior trio of Tony Provenzano (1st overall in 15:11), Kyle Grove (3rd overall/2nd for team scoring in 15:22) and Thomas Biltimier (7th overall/6th for team scoring in 15:36) led the way for the Greyhounds who followed up last week's 24-point sectional win with a 34-point victory. Host Brownsburg was second with 99 points and rival Zionsville was third with 113 points. North Central and Avon also advanced. Joining the frontrunning trio in the top 20 were junior Jack Capes (15th in 15:51), junior Kiefer Jay (18th in 15:58) and senior Max Meisner (20th in 16:01). Freshman Jonah Kaul was 27th overall in 16:11, finishing before any other school's third runner. The 'Hounds now advance to the IHSAA state finals after on October 28 after sectional and regional championships.
