The women's cross country team competed in the North Central Sectional this morning. The weather was truly cross country with a wet course, cool temperatures, and a steady rain falling throughout the meet. The Greyhounds had a solid start to the race and were positioned well through the opening 2 kilometers. North Central looked strong as well and closed with strong finishes to take the team title. The Greyhounds were strong enough to hold second position as a team. SO Sadie Foley led the Greyhounds finishing 4th (19:12.2) overall. JR Charlotte Konow and FR Larkin Taylor gave solid performances finishing 9th (19:42) and 10th (19:46) respectively. JR Katy Dascoli and JR Ella Gaddis took 13th (20:14) and 14th (20:18). JR Nola Elling and SR Kara Wenzler wrapped up the team's scoring finishing 21st (20:30) and 22nd (20:33). North Central scored 26 with the Greyhounds scoring 50. The Greyhounds will be traveling to Brownsburg next weekend to compete in the Regional round of the IHSAA tournament.
