Men’s Soccer Advances to Regional Final

In an exciting and hard fought game, the Greyhounds topped the Pike Red Devils. It was a matchup of two top five teams, with the Hounds currently #2 and Pike #4. Carmel struck first with senior Connor Dora feeding an assist to senior Christian Nielsen and the score remained 1-0 at halftime. Pike equalized late in the game. Senior goalkeeper Adam Keleher made some last minute big time saves. After two, seven minute overtime periods, the game went into a penalty shootout. The Hounds made good on their first four shots. Seniors Connor Dora, Nicky Basso, Hayden Warneke, and junior Johnny Gourley all finished their penalties. Pike missed two of their first three shots, making the final score in the shootout 4-1. The win moves the team’s record to 17-1-2. The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, October 14th vs #11 Cathedral with a current scheduled kickoff of 2:00. The Regional Final will be played at Murray Stadium.
