The boys' soccer team played at home tonight with a 3-0 win over the Brebeuf Braves. Due to extreme Wet Bulb Globe Temperature readings, the match included mandatory hydration breaks and was shortened. The Hounds got off to a quick start, taking an early lead when senior Mikey Kubek made a run down the wing and finished to the far post. The Greyhounds kept up the pressure, extending the lead when sophomore Sebastien Shunk set up junior Jet Truitt, who beat the keeper to make it 2-0. Following the first hydration break, Carmel added a third goal. Senior Max Housholder played a ball through to senior Liam Smith, who finished his opportunity to put the Hounds up 3-0. Carmel controlled much of the play for the rest of the game and created several more scoring opportunities. Senior Gray Morgan and junior Kevin Gillihan combined in goal to earn the shutout. Up next for the Greyhounds is a trip to face No. 15 Fishers on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
