The #1 ranked Girls Soccer team won its third consecutive IHSAA Sectional 10 championship Saturday evening with a 2-0 win over Zionsville. In a very fast paced game with few actual scoring opportunities, Carmel finally put a goal on the board in the 62 minute. The goal came from Ashlyn Anderson skillfully taking on 3 Zionsville defenders and then beating the goalkeeper. Sixteen minutes later, Olivia Cebalo closed out the game by outrunning the Lady Eagles defense and finishing a shot into the side panel. Defensively the Greyhounds held Zionsville to two shots on goal while surviving 3 consecutive corner kicks to start the second half. The team now moves on to the Regional semi-final at Brownsburg on Thursday, Oct 12. The girls record is currently 16-0–3
