Carmel Girls soccer team defended its ISCA #1 ranking with a road win at #2 Castle High School on Saturday. The 12 hour day started with an early morning 190 mile trip to Newburgh, IN, followed by JV and a Varsity contest and then a return to Carmel. The game was a low scoring, tactical contest that was determined by a low, hard cross from Olivia Cebalo that deflected off a Castle defender and found its way past the goalkeeper. While the girls forced Castle’s keeper into 8 saves, the own goal was the deciding tally. The team defense was on today and Carmel keeper Chloe Fouts only had to save 3 shots. The team record is now 11-0-2. The girls will return to Murray Stadium on Monday to face #4 ranked defending state champions Noblesville High School.
