Men’s Soccer Defeats Homestead

The top ranked men’s soccer team traveled up to Ft. Wayne to take on Homestead. The Hounds took down the Spartans by a score of 6-0. Junior Johnny Gourley led the way by finding the back of the on four different occasions. Juniors Tyler Schilt and Dylan Jones each added a goal respectively. Seniors Connor Dora and Hayden Warneke had two assists a piece, while senior Christian Nielsen and junior Dawson Droste tallied an assist each. Seniors Adam Keleher and Jacob Havice combined for the shutout. The Greyhounds record is now 9-1-1. The team returns to action at home on Tuesday, September 19th vs #13 Cathedral. Kickoff will follow the conclusion of the junior varsity contest. In JV action tonight, the Hounds cruised to a 9-0 victory. The win tonight pushed their season record to 8-1-2. This win was Coach Joel Haynie’s 100th victory as a coach at Carmel, with 66 as freshman coach and 34 as JV. Congratulations to Coach Haynie! The Hounds next game is Tuesday September 19th vas Cathedral, with 5:30 scheduled kickoff.
