Carmel Boys Volleyball picked up a statement win on Friday night, defeating No. 8 ranked Zionsville in a four-set battle (25-21, 24-26, 28-26, 26-24) in what proved to be a true barn burner from start to finish. The Greyhounds showed resilience and composure in a match filled with momentum swings, responding time and time again in key moments. After splitting the first two sets, Carmel edged out a dramatic third set 28-26 before closing the match in another tight 26-24 fourth set. Thomas Kuehl delivered a standout performance, leading the way with 14 kills while also adding 3 aces, making a major impact both offensively and from the service line. Eli Philistin-Lynch continued his strong run with 17 kills, providing a consistent scoring presence throughout the match and stepping up in key situations. Ian Czarnecki added 11 kills on 23 swings, contributing efficient offense and helping keep the Greyhounds balanced across the front row. At the net, Carmel’s blocking played a crucial role, as the team totaled 10 blocks. Jack Kovac led the effort with 5 blocks, anchoring the defense and disrupting Zionsville’s attack at critical points in the match. The win marks one of Carmel’s biggest victories of the season, knocking off a top-10 opponent and continuing to build momentum as the Greyhounds move deeper into their schedule. Carmel will be in action on Tuesday April 14th as they host Westfield for their annual Alumni Match & Pack the House evening.
