In a meet that was even closer than it sounds, the boys cross country team won by a single point over #6 Zionsville in a tight team race reminiscent of the 2022 state finals. Senior Kyle Grove continued his marked improvement and ascension among some of the state's top individuals with a fourth-place finish in a lifetime best of 15:25. Senior Thomas Biltimier moved up through the race, ultimately finishing 12th in 15:48 with junior Kiefer Jay dipping under the 16-minute barrier for the first time ever with a 16th-place finish in 15:56. Sophomores Carter Buhr (16:12) and Deklin Bowser (16:15) finished out scoring in 31st and 32nd with junior Jack Capes (16:18) and freshman Jonah Kaul (16:18) pushing back scorers from every other squad in 33rd and 34th. In the earlier frosh/soph race, the 'Hounds finished 6th as a team against many varsity runners from competing schools. Freshmen Lucas Bartlett and Ben Meisner each ran lifetime bests of 17:20 to lead the way. The 'Hounds were dominant in the JV, finishing second through sixth (first through fourth in team scoring) with senior Hayden Nagel, junior Cohen Levy (pictured), senior Joey Arroyo and senior Julien Gourgue. Junior Amory Spence was 11th (ninth in team scoring) to round out scoring with just 19 points.
