Coming off a strong 2025 campaign, Carmel Boys Volleyball enters the 2026 season with high expectations and a roster built on both experience and emerging talent. The Greyhounds open the year ranked No. 4 in the IBVCA Coaches Poll, a reflection of the program’s consistency and continued growth among the state’s elite. Carmel returns a deep and experienced core that played a major role in last season’s success. Lorenzo Orlando, who emerged as one of the team’s primary offensive weapons. His ability to score in system and out of system will once again be a cornerstone of the Greyhounds’ attack. Joining him is Eli Philistin Lynch, a key contributor on both sides of the ball. Eli’s impact last season was felt through his versatility and physicality continues to give Carmel flexibility across rotations. Jack Kovac provides a strong presence in the middle, coming off a 2025 season where he was one of the State's premier blockers, anchoring the Greyhounds defensively while remaining efficient offensively. Running the offense, Shep Spidel returns after a standout season where he tallied nearly 1000 assists in 2025. Additional returners Ian Czarnecki and Thomas Kuehl bring valuable experience and depth to the lineup. Both saw meaningful varsity action a year ago and will continue to play important roles as Carmel looks to build consistency across all phases of the game. The Greyhounds welcome several newcomers expected to make an immediate impact. Vance Vreeman adds athleticism and energy, while Dylan Kaiser brings size and physicality to the front row, giving Carmel additional options at the net and increasing overall depth. One of Carmel’s biggest strengths entering the season is its depth. With a roster featuring multiple returning contributors and rising talent, competition within the gym has elevated the level of play and created a balanced, well-rounded group. Carmel will open the 2026 season on March 21st as they host their annual home invitational at the Aletto Center, setting the stage for what the program hopes will be another competitive and successful season. With a strong returning core, impactful newcomers, and a commitment to continued growth, the Greyhounds are well-positioned to compete among the best in the state as the season unfolds. The Greyhounds are one of the biggest movers in the IBVCA Coaches Poll from the 2025 season where they follow three of the final four teams who made it to Mackey in 2025.
