Each year the Carmel Athletics Department honors the coaches of the year. Nominations and voting are completed exclusively thru all coaches at Carmel High School. The 2022-2023 Assistant Coach of the Year is Chris Pfaff. Chris finished his sixth season with the Greyhound boys and girls swimming programs last year. He was instrumental in the Hounds winning the National Championships this past season for both the boys and girls swimming and diving teams. Coach Pfaff has been a part of 12 state championships during his six years at Carmel and contributed greatly to the development of 3 Carmel Swimmers that competed for Team USA in the 2023 World Team Championships in Japan. He is a full-time employee of the Carmel Swim Club as the Associate Head Coach. The 2022-2023 Head Coach of the Year is Jack Meachum. A tragic car accident claimed the life of our friend, leader and colleague on August 22nd. Just days before the tragic accident, Jack was informed he was selected as the 2022-2023 Head Coach of the Year. Jack led the Greyhounds to the state championship in 2023, the first as a varsity sport at Carmel. Coach Meachum finished his sixth year as a head coach at Carmel and also served as the Indiana Director for True Lacrosse. He leaves a legacy as a transformational coach willing to dedicate his time, expertise, and wisdom to the student-athletes of the lacrosse program.
