Girls cross country third at Hamilton County, JV places first

The girls cross country team finished third in a very competitive field at the Hamilton County championship at White River Elementary with 70 points. #4 Hamilton Southeastern won with 39 points over #3 Noblesville with 41. #12 Westfield tallied 84 points to finish fourth in a match-up of likely state meet teams. Junior Olivia Mundt ran 19:26 in tenth to lead a pack of Greyhound scorers that included senior Emersyn Weaver in 12th (19:34), freshman Annabel Pollert in 13th (19:36), junior Charlotte Konow in 17th (19:44) and freshman Larkin Taylor in 18th (19:47). Senior Audrey Ricketts also earned all-county honors with her 19th place finish in 19:48. In the JV race, the 'Hounds dominated with just 20 points. Sophomore Arden Finley, sophomore Caroline Schmidt, freshman Hannah Schaller, sophomore Lilliana Cate and senior Bri Roper provided the scoring with second through sixth-place finishes. The 'Hounds will next compete at the Brownsburg Invite on Saturday, September 2.
